Decoding Smart Software Quality Testing Solutions with Mudit Singh, Head of Marketing and Growth at LambdaTest
    '}}

Welcome to ExtraMile by KnowledgeNile, an exclusive interview series where industry leaders discuss innovations, tech trends, marketing tactics, and expert insights.

Today, we're excited to share our latest interview with Mudit Singh, Head of Marketing and Growth at LambdaTest, a company that helps businesses improve their software quality through smart testing solutions.

In this conversation, Mudit talks about his path in the tech and marketing world, the cool features of LambdaTest, and the launch of KaneAI, the first-ever AI-powered testing assistant. Let’s explore his inspiring story and insights!

Hello Mudit, we are glad to have you with us!

Mudit, You're truly a trailblazer with decades of experience in the marketing industry! How would you describe your professional journey leading up to your current role at LambdaTest? What are the opportunities and challenges you've faced along the way?

Ans. Thank you for your kind words. My journey of 14 years in the space of tech and marketing has been both exciting and transformative. Before LambdaTest, I worked across various fields, from writing content for the first online platforms in India to marketing for high-growth digital transformation companies. Each assignment was more challenging than the last, but I learned critical foundational lessons in product building, marketing, and sales that have helped me scale LambdaTest and other tenures.

As a founding team member at LambdaTest, I wore multiple hats - ranging from product management and customer success to sales, growth, and marketing. In this process, I had to deal with various obstacles, including the volatility of the market, evolving customer needs, a global pandemic, and scaling all operations at breakneck speeds. However, it is important to state that each challenge faced has been a learning process. The most satisfying aspect has been the opportunity to build and mentor a team that continuously pushes boundaries and drives innovation.

How has your experience in building products from scratch and bringing them to market shaped your ability to work across functions? Can you share a few thoughts on this?

Ans. To be able to conceptualize products and take them through the development phase and launch them onto the market has been one of the most fulfilling activities throughout my working career.

As a founding team member, I took on responsibilities across various functions—product development, sales, customer support, and even software development. This experience also elevated my ability to think from the customer’s perspective, which was instrumental in tasks like product positioning and building customer success journeys. For any new marketer, I would definitely advise spending lots of time with sales, customer success, and product development teams to understand how they are solving customer challenges and then incorporate these learnings in their marketing tasks.

Congratulations on the launch of KaneAI, Mudit! We'd love to know more about how this AI-powered platform, that is the world’s first end-to-end testing assistant. What's the stand-out feature of this platform?

Ans. Thank you! KaneAI is the world’s first End-to-End AI Test Agent.

KaneAI enables users to create and evolve complex test cases using natural language, significantly reducing the time and expertise required to get started with test automation. It’s a unique approach to authoring, debugging, and evolving end-to-end tests that will revolutionize the way teams create, manage, and execute automated tests. Since the tests are using natural language, it also provides an opportunity for different personnel to participate in the test-case creation process, thereby democratizing the quality assurance processes. Combined with built-in features like intelligent test planning, AI-powered test healing, and code exports, KaneAI supports complex workflows and ensures comprehensive test coverage.

One of the unique features of KaneAI is its ability to do a 2way sync with test code which means you can do prompt-to-code or code-to-prompt conversions in real time. That will enable automation teams to evolve existing test code base using KaneAI and natural language, thereby eliminating the need to keep migrating from one platform to another.

Staying one step ahead in today's competitive landscape is extremely important. What role does delivering an engaging and smooth digital experience play in this perspective? On top of that, we would like to know more about digital experience testing.

Ans. Given today’s competitive landscape, customer experience has become one of the most crucial factors that drive business success. People no longer just want functional solutions—they expect ones that are smart, fast, and seamless. Your end user would be interacting with your brand from across multiple channels spanning web and mobile, and it’s extremely important that they experience the brand seamlessly no matter what channel or device they are using. This is where digital experience testing becomes essential. It’s now critical for businesses in this digital first world to ensure that their user’s overall digital experience is of highest quality.

This is also where LambdaTest platform comes into the picture - from accelerating release cycles by removing testing bottlenecks, to providing a huge range of mobile and desktop environments for testing, LambdaTest provides a wide range of tooling to ensure that you deliver a seamless digital experience to all your end customers.

How do you foster collaboration between marketing and product teams to ensure your software testing solutions meet market demands and drive growth? Is there any key strategy for the same?

Ans. At core, we believe that close collaboration between marketing and product teams is key to driving growth and delivering the solutions the market demands. This approach is built on factors like open communication, constant feedback, and a shared vision. Both teams understand how we operate and are well-versed in the business landscape. Further, cross-functional meetings and workshops help foster this collaboration. By working closely with the product team, we can better align our marketing strategies with the product’s value proposition, ensuring stronger market positioning—our ultimate goal.

With a customer-centric approach becoming important in today's test environment, how does LambdaTest ensure its solutions best support developers and testers?

Ans. At LambdaTest, our commitment has always been to put our customers first while driving innovation in quality engineering. Customers are always at the heart of everything that we do and we involve them at every step. All our products are built keeping a user-first approach in mind, so as to make the lives of testers & developers easier and more productive. The key to achieving this is constant engagement with our customers ensuring we are identifying areas of improvement and releasing features that have a direct impact on productivity. In addition we also focus on bringing innovation in the field constantly. We are in fact known for releasing industry-first features in our ecosystem which is only possible because of our customer obsession approach. Performance, scalability, and high usability has been our driving factors as well.

Can you elaborate on the advantages of using the Real Device Cloud for native app automation? How does it enhance the testing process for both iOS and Android applications?

Ans. Real Device Cloud allows developers and testers to execute tests on actual physical devices accessible through the cloud. This enables true real-world testing that is more accurate and reliable. It mimics how the app would perform in the hands of end users using any iOS or Android device. With LambdaTest's real device cloud, you can test your websites and apps on 5000+ real Android and iOS devices. It eliminates the need for building, managing and scaling internal device labs and therefore helps reduce costs. It also ensures that your app is tested across a wider device range ensuring better responsiveness, reliability, and compatibility. You can also use the real device cloud for native app automation to run high volumes of tests with any mobile app automation framework, including Appium, XCUITest, and more. Features like detailed logs, screenshots, and video recordings also help debug tests quickly. LambdaTest also has integrations with 120+ CI/CD tools, this integration will help you deploy faster than ever.

What piece of advice would you like to share with the fellow marketers out there, who’re looking to take brand to the next level? Further, how the global marketing sector has been lately, and which are the current trends in buzz.

Ans. For fellow marketers looking to elevate their brands, my advice is to have a growth mindset and never stop learning. The marketing environment is dynamic, and the tools, platforms, and trends change as the market evolves. This means that one should accept change and be flexible enough to try new techniques. Speaking of the current trends, there is an increased focus on personalization and data-driven marketing. Consumers now demand that brands should anticipate their requirements and provide relevant experiences. Also, the focus on environmental responsibility and ethical approaches to marketing has gained momentum as the primary factors in the global competition.
